The Boy Who Wanted to Be a Robot

Presented by:
Evolve Company

Written by:
Edward Einhorn

Barry Weil

Autism (Asperger's Syndrome)

Synopsis:
A Pinocchio tale in reverse, presented as a fairy tale from a foreign culture—the culture of people with Asperger's Syndrome. Features puppetry and design elements inspired by the work of autistic artists.

Press:

"Painted in brash, electric colors, Weil's puppets express a surprisingly great variety of reactions with cleverly inventive minimalism. What makes the piece so effective is that Einhorn never boxes its hero in by pathologizing his Aspberger's syndrome." nytheatre.com

"Outstanding puppetry work." Hi Drama
